About the program

TOPIC OF THE PROJECT

We are confident that teachers know their students and their needs best. That's why they have the freedom of choosing the theme of the project and space for executing their own vision.

At the same time, each project should encourage the development of social and civic skills. We also appreciate projects which use the potential of the town, in which the school works, for instance by conducting field research, including parents and citizens or by taking up actions which benefit the local community.

THE PROJECT TEAM

Children which participate in the projects are their key element. We encourage teachers to work on their ideas with as many students as possible. The project should be carried out by at least 5 members of the group, as diverse as possible, which would include:

- girls and boys;
- those, who are interested in the topic and those, who are yet to discover their passion;
- both active members of the school community and those less engaged, who need smart encouragement.

The team works under the close eye of the teacher, who plays the role of an inspiring mentor.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

When evaluating the project, we look closely at the following components:

- ingenuity  is the project interesting? What passions and skills does it develop?
- teamwork – does the project require working together on the development of ideas and solutions? How do participants divide their tasks?
- self-sufficiency: can the initiative be given away to students? Does it cultivate self-reliance and increase self-worth among young people?
- adequacy to needs/social responsibility - to what extent does the project answer the needs of the school enrivonment and the local community?
